What the company builds

Zensor installs passive motion sensors connected to an analysis system in the homes of older adults who live alone. The system learns the home's daily routine and alerts relatives when it picks up an anomaly. It is for families with a parent ageing at home, and it replaces the check-in call and waiting for a sign of life.

Today, a family worried about a parent who lives alone calls, drops by or waits for the person to report a problem themselves. Between two calls, no one knows whether the day went normally. A gradual change in routine goes unnoticed, and the problem is discovered once it has set in.

The product

The team is designing a network of passive sensors and the software that interprets their readings. The system builds a profile of the home's routine, then flags any deviation; it works without the older adult having to do anything. The person stays at home and the family receives the alert.

What it changes in practice

  • The family knows the day went normally without having to call, because the system only speaks up when something deviates.
  • The older adult has nothing to do to be followed, because the sensors are passive.
  • A change in routine is picked up before anyone reports it, because the system compares each day with the previous ones.

The ultimate device for peace of mind.
