Who we are

Garage&co supports hardware technology (hardtech) companies in Quebec. The garageincubation.com site is operated by Moi, Entrepreneur, located at 326-800 Place Victoria. H3C 0B4

This policy explains what information the site collects, what it is used for, who receives it and how long we keep it.

Information we collect

When you write to us

The contact form asks for your first name, last name, email, the subject of your message and the message itself. Your company name is optional. We keep this information to answer you, and the team receives your message by email.

When you subscribe to the newsletter

To receive Solid Ideas, you give your first name, last name and email, on the Solid Ideas page or by ticking the box in the contact or application form. We also record the language you chose and the form where you gave your consent. This information is used only to send you the newsletter. Every issue has an unsubscribe link. If you ask for the white paper, we also send it to you by email.

When you apply

The application form asks for:

• your contact details: first name, last name, email and job title;
• information about your company: name, website, social media, status, sector and business model;
• the name and role of your co-founders;
• your project: description, stage, capital raised, investors, objectives, preferred meeting date and availability;
• files: the logo, a photo of the founders (optional) and the pitch deck.

This information is used to assess your application and to contact you. If you name your co-founders, make sure they agree. You receive an email confirming that we received your application. Garage&co does not transfer any information to external parties except with the person's explicit consent.

When you take the GRL diagnostic

The diagnostic asks for your company name, email, sector and path, then your answers for each axis. Your answers stay in your browser until the end of the diagnostic. The company name, email, sector and path are recorded as soon as you start, and your answers are added at the end. We then email you the PDF report, with a copy to the Garage&co team. A report you download directly is not kept.

If you tick the box, you agree to receive Garage&co's communications (programming, workshops, calls for applications). Garage&co reserves the right to send promotional and event material.

When you become a Garage Connect member

The membership asks for your first name, last name, email, profile and, if applicable, the name and description of your organization. Payment happens on Stripe's secure page: your card number and billing details go directly to Stripe, and Garage&co does not see them. Once the payment is made, we record your membership, add you to the members' list and the newsletter, and send you a welcome email, with a copy to the Garage Connect manager.

When you browse the site

As with any website, our host receives your IP address, your browser type, the pages requested and the time of each visit. These logs are used to run the site and fix errors.

To block automated submissions, our forms use Google reCAPTCHA. The service loads when you start filling in a form, and it sends Google information about your device and your browsing, including your IP address.

Cookies and measurement tools

The site stores your cookie choice in your browser. This choice is not sent to Garage&co.

With your consent, we use Google Analytics to measure traffic to the site: pages viewed, length of visits, device and browser type, approximate region based on your IP address. Google Analytics sets its own cookies. This tool is off by default. It loads only if you click Accept in the cookie banner. You can change your mind at any time with the Manage cookies link at the bottom of every page.

Profiles published on the site

The site presents the team, the board of directors and the companies we support: names, photos, titles, LinkedIn profiles, and the founders' names with their quotes. The people or elements on the site have been approved by the people concerned. For the English version of the site, some of these texts are translated with Anthropic's tool.

Who has access to your information

Within Garage&co, only the people who need your information for their work have access to it, via Google Workspace and Anthropic's tools (Claude)

Peich, the agency that built the site, maintains it for Garage&co, under contract. The following providers also process your information for us, on our instructions:

• Vercel hosts the site and processes the forms;
• Supabase hosts the database and the uploaded files;
• Resend sends the site's emails;
• Cyberimpact runs the newsletter and the members' list;
• Google provides reCAPTCHA, Google Analytics (with your consent) and Google Drive, where we keep the application files;
• Notion holds the follow-up of applications;
• Stripe processes Garage Connect payments;
• Anthropic translates some of the published content.

We do not sell your personal information.

Communication outside Quebec

Several of these providers are located in the United States or process data there, including Vercel, Resend, Google, Notion, Stripe and Anthropic. Your information may therefore be communicated outside Quebec, for example when the site processes a form or sends you an email. The site's database and uploaded files are hosted in Canada, in Montreal. The site and the processing of forms are hosted in the United States.

We confirm that Garage&co carried out the privacy impact assessment before these communications, and that it concluded the protection is adequate.

Retention

We keep your information as long as needed for the purposes above, then delete it:

• messages sent through the contact form: 10 years
• applications and attached files, accepted or not: 10 years
• GRL diagnostics, finished or not: 10 years;
• Garage Connect memberships: 12 months
• newsletter subscription: until you unsubscribe.

Security

Exchanges with the site are encrypted. Files attached to applications are kept in a private space, and the team opens them through links valid for one hour. Access to the admin panel is limited to authorized people.

Your rights

You can ask to access your personal information and have it corrected. You can also ask for it to be deleted, or withdraw your consent, for example by unsubscribing from the newsletter. You can ask to receive your information in a structured, commonly used technological format.

Write to info@garageincubation.com. We answer within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can file a complaint with the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec.

Changes to this policy

We update this policy when the site or our providers change. The date at the top of the page shows the last update.
