Hardtech, ChangemakerH4 Lab: The Backbone of Humanoid RobotsHumanoid robots are playing an increasingly prominent role in the world of hardtech. However, behind the product’s success lies a very simple technology that allows an arm, a leg, or a hand to communicate with the rest of the robot. It is in this unassuming space, between the sensors and the “brain” of humanoid robots, that H4 Lab has chosen to establish itself.29 octobre 2026 · 5 min read ·Read
Hardtech, ChangemakerFrédéric Simard and RE-AK Technologies: Measuring EmotionBefore landing on the right formula, Frédéric Simard measured human emotion with three different technologies. RE-AK Technologies first targeted video games, then retail, before building Hermès: a biometric headset that straps on in seconds and tracks a person's experience as they move through real-world spaces. Now deployed across live events and entertainment, the technology has just launched a model where visitors fund their own measurement.1 octobre 2026 · 7 min read ·ReadHardtech, ChangemakerOnua World: Bringing Environmental Commitment to LifeOnua World provides smart aquaponic garden and gives organizations a tangible way to demonstrate their commitment to the environment.30 août 2026 · 4 min read ·Read

The hardtech glossary
The glossary is a living page rather than one resource among others: every term carries its definition in French and in English and its own address, which you can send someone to.
Get what comes next
Every new resource appears first in Solid Ideas, with what founders are building in hardtech elsewhere and what it changes for a company that manufactures here.
Frequently asked questions
Does Solid Start cost anything?
No. Everything the library holds is free and you read it without signing up. Solid Start is a library of resources, which is a different thing from a support program.
Do I have to be supported by Garage&co?
No. The library is open to everyone, in Quebec and elsewhere. Connect, Incubation and Croissance are the support programs, and you reach them through the GRL diagnostic.
Can I use the templates inside my company?
Yes, including for commercial purposes inside your own company. We ask one thing: keep them for your own use rather than reselling them or redistributing them under another brand.
How often do new resources appear?
We publish articles continuously and we send Solid Ideas twice a month. We add a template whenever our team produces one worth sharing.
How do I know which program fits me?
The Garage Readiness Level diagnostic places your company on eight dimensions in under ten minutes and sends you back a written report. It is the entry point to all three programs.
Know where you stand
The resources help. The diagnostic goes further: it places your company on eight dimensions and points to the program that matches its stage.
