Who this is for
Your project is still at the idea stage
You have a solid project idea, and the next steps of building a hardtech startup are still unclear: technical validation, the first trials, the choice of suppliers.
You are a student or a researcher, and the company does not exist yet
You are developing a technology inside a university or a research centre. You want to understand what becomes of a hardtech project once it leaves the lab, and to meet the people who have made that move.
You support the community
You already work with hardtech companies, offering advice, investment or services. You take a membership to stay close to what founders are building in Canada and to meet them early in their path.

A hardtech founder succeeds with a community around them. We are building an ecosystem where the people who start companies, do research, invest or bring their expertise all contribute to building physical technologies.
Peer-to-peer sessions
Founders who live with the same constraints meet in a small group, without our team in the room.
Meetups
Every month, the community gathers around a theme, a pitch night or a drink.
Workshops
In each workshop, an expert digs into one subject with the group: communications, hiring, product roadmap, and so on.
Events and conferences
We hold workshops and conferences throughout the year. Keep an eye on our monthly programming.

Frequently asked questions
How much does Connect cost?
CA$299 a year, before taxes. The fee covers the diagnostic and its report, the two hours of scoping, the workshop tour, the co-development sessions, the meetups, the workshops our partners run and access to the job board.
Do I have to be incorporated to join?
No. Connect is open to students and to people working in research who have yet to start a company.
Can I apply straight to Incubation?
Yes. You can apply to Incubation without joining Connect first. Connect covers the reading of the project and access to the community, while product development and financing belong to Incubation. From the diagnostic, you see which program matches the current state of your project.
Is membership individual or per company?
Membership is individual. If two people from the same company want to take part in the activities and in the community, each one takes a membership.
Are the activities billed on top?
No. Your membership covers every activity of the year: the co-development sessions, the meetups, the workshops our partners run and the events.
