Connect is for those laying the foundations of a hardtech project, before the working prototype that opens the door to Incubation. Membership is individual, lasts one year and covers every activity of the year.
Who Connect is for
Your project is at the idea stage
You have a solid project idea but no clear view of the next steps: technical validation, first trials, choosing suppliers.
You are a researcher or a student
You are developing a technology in a university or research centre and want to understand what happens to a hardtech project once it leaves the lab.
You support the community
Advisor, investor or supplier, you join to stay close to what is being built in Canada and meet founders early in their journey.
What Connect includes
The GRL diagnostic and its written report
A Garage Readiness Level diagnostic to understand your roadmap. The report names clear milestones.
Two hours of framing
Two hours of framing and mentoring with the team, whenever suits you best.
A visit of the Lab
At Ax.C, the visit covers the equipment and the requirements of prototyping.
Co-development and meetups
Monthly co-development sessions between hardtech founders, and themed meetups.
Partner workshops
With experts in intellectual property, design, automation and branding.
Job board and mention
Access to our job board and a mention of your company on our website.

Your questions
- Do I need to be incorporated to join?
- No. Connect is also for researchers and students who do not have a company yet.
- Is membership individual or per company?
- Membership is individual. If two co-founders want to take part in the activities and the community, each one joins.
- Can I apply directly to Incubation?
- Yes. Connect is not a mandatory step. The diagnostic shows which path matches the current state of your project.
