What the company builds
Cortech Sports is developing a non-invasive transcranial photobiomodulation device built into sports helmets. The company pairs it with EEG measurement and scientific follow-up. It serves North American professional and college sports teams, clinical settings and research.
The product
The team is designing a device that fits inside the helmet, and pairs it with EEG measurement. The prototype works. Finalizing the product, the clinical trial and obtaining regulatory certifications are steps still to come: the device is not approved.
What it changes in practice
- The device is worn in the helmet the athlete already uses, so there is no extra equipment to put on.
- The intervention is non-invasive, because photobiomodulation works through the skull.
- The sports team gets a measure of brain activity, because EEG comes with the device.
