Sector88 is developing a memory-aware orchestrator that improves the efficiency of graphics processors. The software is for sovereign artificial intelligence programs and global artificial intelligence infrastructure. It makes it possible to deploy artificial intelligence outside cloud systems.

Running artificial intelligence workloads anywhere other than the cloud runs into two obstacles today: unstable execution and dependence on cloud systems. Graphics processors do not deliver all they could, which weighs on both energy use and throughput.

The product

The team is designing a proprietary orchestrator that manages the memory of graphics processors. The orchestrator clearly reduces energy use and increases throughput. Customers keep their artificial intelligence workloads on their own infrastructure, outside the cloud.

What it changes in practice

• Energy use goes down, because the graphics processors are used more efficiently.
• Throughput goes up, because the orchestrator manages memory access instead of leaving it to default execution.
• Deployment becomes possible outside cloud systems, which opens the door to sovereign artificial intelligence programs.
