Alvus

Alvus designs a connected camera system for home security. A behavioural artificial intelligence analyzes what people in the camera's field of view are doing, sends an alert and sets off an alarm when it recognizes a threat. The system is aimed first at suburban homeowners.

Today, a home camera records and notifies when it detects motion. It signals that something is happening without saying what, so sorting the alerts falls to the owner and the footage is reviewed after the fact.

The product

The team is developing behavioural analysis software and runs it with connected cameras. The system qualifies a behaviour, alerts the owner and sets off an alarm on site. The owner remains the person alerted and decides what happens next.

What it changes in practice
